The decay series started out of frustration. I was seeking photographic interest during my daily walk which happens about 3 times a week. Usually I walk up Pottery Road track, along the main fire trail and down New Town Track. All this is on Mt Wellington which rises above Hobart.

Whilst our eucalypt forests are “evergreen” the leaves are in constant recycle mode. From blue-green new growth to the yellow old. Up the track leaf litter is everywhere of course. If you look there is all but an infinite variety of coloured and spotty fallen leaves.

So I collected some and started experimenting with the results now in the gallery. There is more work required. I need to try pressing first for example.

The images were taken with the Sony Nex 7 with Canon 100mm macro attached.
